We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee our Residential Solar Division and help steer the future of solar. As a Project Manager, you will be acting as a liaison between all areas of the business, clients, and subcontractors. JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, the Project Manager (PM) will work closely with the Sales, Design, and Operations teams to support all technical aspects of project delivery from conception and proposal through to the final completion. The PM will need to have the technical chops to communicate with the installation teams, the Electrical Safety Authority and other technical teams while also being able to communicate effectively with our clients. The PM role will be fast-paced, and the successful applicant will need to be comfortable to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest level of organization.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicating with our clients
  • Keep the projects organized and moving towards the goal of being completed
  • Understanding and being able to communicate the technical aspects
  • Assist with equipment procurement and the tracking of equipment orders
  • Coordinate with engineers for the preparation and delivery of project design documents, such as site plans, system layouts, electrical diagrams and structural drawings
  • Coordinate with our electrical and mechanical construction teams
  • Coordinate and manage various subcontractors throughout the province
  • Provide direction and leadership in all aspects of operations and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies
  • Oversee personnel development and succession planning by teaching, mentoring, and growing the team
  • Drive continuous improvement of site performance
  • Oversee all client relations
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and various internal departments
  • Participate in regular site visits
  • Forecast and tracks change orders and scope changes
  • Maintaining project schedules and budgets
  • Participate in site visits for project kickoffs, meetings with hydro company representatives, project closeouts, or as additionally required
  • Create a culture of success by contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Provide regular updates on project status and milestones
  • Administration duties/tasks required and all other duties as assigned.
  • Scheduling and communicating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Coordination and management of suppliers and subcontractors in all capacities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Solid understanding of the requirements of solar system design, installation, and utility interconnections
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, and Word
  • Proficiency in working with digital documents and online applications
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and ability to work independently, make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters
  • Have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the solar industry and/or solar design software
  • Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of financial and operational concepts
  • Sound judgmental powers; ability to respond promptly to the needs of the clients and internal collaborators
  • Self-motivated with interest in the renewable energy/solar industry with a commitment to
    continuously learning new skills, including solar system design and site analysis

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Education preferred: Master or Journeyman/woman Electrician, Bachelor’s Degree in Renewable Energy, Business and/or an Electrical background
  • 5+ Years’ experience in construction, operations, or renewable energy
  • Technical and solar experience and understanding
  • Previous experience mentoring and growing an internal team
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license
  • Valid Working at Heights Certification
  • Be knowledgeable about the provincial building codes, electrical codes, ESA, CSA, and UL standards.
  • Able to travel from Monday to Friday on a weekly basis as required
  • Flexibility to work remotely and in the Picton, ON office
