  3. Compliance: Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

1. Data Sharing for Audience Matching We may share certain “first-party” information provided by you—such as your email address or phone number—with third-party service providers, including Google (Google Customer Match) and Meta (Meta Advanced Matching). This is done to improve our advertising performance and to show you more relevant energy-related content and offers.

2. Hashing and Security Before your data is shared with platforms like Google or Meta, it is “hashed.” Hashing is a form of one-way encryption that turns your personal information into a string of randomized characters. This allows these platforms to match you to their existing user database without reading your raw personal information. Meta and Google use this data to provide audience-matching and measurement services on our behalf.

3. Retention and Compliance In accordance with platform policies, user data uploaded for matching purposes is subject to a maximum retention period of 540 days. We do not knowingly share data belonging to minors (under the age of 13) or sensitive personal information (such as health or financial data).
